Adopted from the sewage treatment industry, the Nano-Tech Bio-Media uses a proprietary technology to form the inert ceramic beads into a manageable shape (spheres, blocks, plugs) for household aquariums.

Ceramic base, combined with special ingredient made with a combination of minerals that releases negative ions
Negative ions help with neutralizing water, and maintaining pH between 7.0-7.2
Stimulates growth of nitrifying bacteria colonies and improves water clarity
The Bio-Spheres excel at establishing bacterial colonies in forms of Bio-Nano Composite Films, it allows different species of bacteria and fungi to grow on its large surface area, such as nitrifying bacteria (including species of the genera Nitrosomonas, Nitrosococcus, Nitrobacter and Nitrococcus), yeast, phototrophic prokaryotes, etc.
- Designed specifically for freshwater aquariums only (not suitable for marine aquariums);

Easy maintenance
The Bio-Spheres/Bio-Blocks should be cleaned or replaced every 6 months for optimal results, however when cleaning/replacing old Bio-Spheres/Bio-Blocks, DO NOT replace all of them at the same time. Clean/replace half of the Bio-Spheres/Bio-Blocks such that there are sufficient bacterial colonies remain to reestablish themselves in the newly cleaned/replaced Bio-Spheres/Bio-Blocks.
